What is it? The median nerve runs through your wrist and supplies the innervation to the thumb and two and half fingers, in a small space know as the carpal tunnel. When this nerve or pinched or compressed, we get carpal tunnel syndrome. The symptoms geberally occur gradually, worsening over a course of time. repetitive movements such as keyboard or computer mouse can also cause it. numbness, tingling, pins and needles in the hands and fongers may be felt.pain at the hand may also travle upto the shoulder.Difficulty in grasping small items may also be experienced. women are more likely to get it than men as they have a smaller transverse carpal ligament then men.
